The
Carolina Theatre has been located in downtown Greensboro
since 1927 and was refurbished in the 1990s. The facility has housed
the Greensboro Ballet, Community Theatre of Greensboro, the Livestock
Players Musical Theatre, Greensboro Youth Symphony and other local performing
arts groups. The facility can be rented by civic groups, businesses
and individuals for seminars, meetings, receptions and weddings. Since
it opened, the Carolina Theatre has featured a variety of celebrity
entertainers on its stage including Amos and Andy, Vincent Price, Miles
Davis, Judy Collins, Chet Atkins, Tony Bennett, Gordon Lightfoot, Ben
Vereen, Emmy Lou Harris, The Chieftains, Doc Watson, Garrison Keillor,

Arts offers a variety of productions by performed by the
Livestock Players, Greensboro Children's Theatre, the Music Center,
Greensboro Concert Band, Philharmonics of Greensboro, Choral Society

as part of the OPUS Concert Series and the summer "Music for a

The Community
Theatre of Greensboro has more than 45 years of experience
in presenting Broadway plays and musicals in its Studio Theatre, located

Eastern
Music Festival presents more than 100 summer concerts presented
by talented students and professionals from around the world. From symphonic
works to chamber music, the venue also offers the Fringe Festival, highlighting

CafeJAM
was established in 1988 in Archdale, NC and relocated to Greensboro
in August of 200. It is a Christian concert venue and youth outreach
by EagleRock International Ministries of Greensboro. CafeJAM attracts
several local artists such as Source of Prosperity and Zeteo as well

The
Greensboro Ballet offers many educational and artistic
activities including a traditional holiday production of “The
Nutcracker”. The School of Greensboro Ballet is one of the few

The
Greensboro Cultural Center houses 25 visual and performing
arts organizations, five art galleries, rehearsal halls, a sculpture
garden, privately operated restaurant with outdoor cafe-style seating,
and an outdoor amphitheater. The Center spans four levels and also includes
art galleries such as the African American Atelier, the Green Hill Center
for NC Art, the Greensboro Artists' League Gallery and Gift Shop, the

The
Greensboro Opera Company has grown and expanded since its
inception in 1981. It began with a production of Verdi's La Traviata,
then grew from a single fall production of a major opera in the years
1981-89 to adding Sunday matinee performances from 1990-99. In 1999,
Madame Butterfly and Carmen sold out successive performances in 1997
and 1998, so a second spring opera with two performances was added,

The
Greensboro Symphony Orchestra (GSO) is known nationally
and enjoys repeated exposure on NPR’s Perfomance Today. Led by
conductor Dmitri Sitkovetsky, GSO performs classical and pops concerts
and holds educational programs for young listeners throughout the year.

Reed African American Heritage houses one of the best collections

Triad Stage
is a non-profit regional theatre company that has been recognized as
“One of the 50 Best Regional Theatres in America” by New
York’s Drama League, as well as earning other local and regional

The
Weatherspoon Art Museum offers one of the most impressive
collections of modern and contemporary art in the Southeast. Located
at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, the museum features
six galleries, and is nationally recognized for its collection of 20th
century American art. The permanent collection also includes lithographs
and bronzes by Henri Matisse, and art by masters such as Willem de Kooning,
Henry Ossawa Tanner, John Graham, Pablo Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg,
